Question 1

How many teams can the bracket hold?

Accepted Answer

4, 8, 16 or 32, single elimination. The 16- and 32-team brackets are drawn from both sides towards a final in the middle, the way a pool sheet is, so a 32-team draw still fits on one page.

Question 2

Can I type the team names in?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Put one name per line in draw order and they land on the first-round lines, numbered. Leave the box empty for a blank bracket you fill in by hand.

Question 3

Where do I write the winner?

Accepted Answer

Each match's winner goes on the line the two teams' lines join to in the next column. The tournament winner goes in the box marked Winner: at the far right on the 4- and 8-team sheets, directly beneath the final in the middle column on the 16- and 32-team sheets.

Question 4

What if my tournament has 12 or 24 teams?

Accepted Answer

Use the next size up (16 or 32) and leave the surplus first-round lines empty; the teams on those lines get a bye into the second round, which is how an uneven field is seeded in practice.

Question 5

Is there a double-elimination version?

Accepted Answer

Not yet. This is the single-elimination tree only; a losers' bracket is a different sheet.
