Are there cursive practice sheets for adults?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Two settings make the difference: choose a 5 mm writing band rather than 8 mm, which is close to normal adult writing size, and set the practice type to copy from the model rather than trace. Tracing is scaffolding for someone who does not yet know the letter shape; relearning a hand you already know needs the reference and the space, not the dotted outline. The adult preset is set up that way.

Which handwriting style should I choose?

Pick the one the child is taught at school. In the US that is a traditional or modern cursive — the styles usually sold as Zaner-Bloser and D'Nealian; in England it is a joined hand; in Australia it is NSW Foundation. Print (manuscript) comes first everywhere, before any joined writing.

Can I put my child's name on the worksheet?

Yes. Type any words into the text box and each word gets its own ruled line with a model to trace and space to write it unaided. Leave the box empty and you get the full alphabet instead.

Do tracing worksheets actually help?

Accepted Answer

Tracing alone is weak practice — a child can follow the shape without learning where the letter starts. That is why every sheet here ends each line with empty ruling: trace a few, then write it yourself. If you would rather skip tracing entirely, choose "Copy from the model".

Question 5

What size should the letters be?

Accepted Answer

The writing band sets the letter height. 8 mm or larger suits a first writer; 6 mm is the usual school size; 4–5 mm suits a child who already writes comfortably.
