Which instrument?
- Guitar (6 strings) – A4 – 13 rows × 6 columns of chord boxes on A4. The most common format for guitar chord sheets and chord dictionaries.
- Ukulele (4 strings) – A4 – 13 rows × 7 columns sized for a four-string fretboard. Works equally well for soprano, concert, or tenor ukulele.
- Bass Guitar (4 strings) – A4 – Same four-string grid, ideal for bass chord voicings and scale diagrams.
- Banjo (5 strings) – A4 – 9 rows × 6 columns for a five-string banjo fretboard.

How to use a blank chord chart
On each chord box, the horizontal lines are frets and the vertical lines are strings. Mark a dot on the intersection to show where to fret a note. An open circle above the box means the string is played open; an X means it is muted. Write the chord name above the box. Print a sheet, fill in your chord shapes in pencil, and you have a custom chord reference page.
